Cheryl McConnell B.Ed, Dip Tchg (ece), Dip Tchg (primary), Certificate in Adult Learning and Teaching, NZ Playcentre Federation Certificate. I am a fifth generation Pakeha, born in Waiuku and grew up on a dairy farm near Pukekohe. I have a partner and three children and live on a vineyard. My experience in education spans 32 years. Currently, I co-ordinate and lecture on a field-based Diploma of Teaching, Early Childhood Education in Hawke’s Bay. My educational interests include: communication, music, professional practice, creativity, pedagogy of play, teaching and learning, and treaty education. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children, and the transformation that occurs for adults through education. I am committed to social justice and peaceful ways of being in the world.
