Alexandra Vasilopoulou completed her doctorate thesis on Greek nursery classroom socialisation at the University of Essex, UK, in March 2005. She is teaching sociology, language and gender, education and research methods courses and her research interests include the conversation analytic study of classroom interaction, socialisation processes in early childhood, gender in language use and Greek and English grammar-in-interaction.
