A completed development of a prototype of an e-Learning assessment application based on Bloom Taxonomy specifically for Physics Form 4 student is discussed in this paper. This prototype focus on how self-assessments are done with respect to the different abilities and performances of participating students and the level of questions based on Bloom Taxonomy. Besides that, this prototype also provides the evaluation on each student performance through the exercises and tests based on the student’s level which is determined by the assessment system through a pre-test taken at an early stage. Therefore, students were given questions that are of better fit according to their level of understandings before proceeding to the next level. The concept of critical and creative thinking is also captured through the generation of questions by teachers to ensure the success of the assessment process.
This prototype is developed using the object-oriented methodology, which is Rational Unified Process method, Active Server Pages (ASP)programming, VBScript and JavaScript along with macromedia software. Hopefully, the educators and the students can benefit from the assessment application produced in this project to increase their learning performance at the expected level.
