Although Mathematics is indispensable to engineering education in the analysis and resolution of various technological problems, there are an increasing concern about engineering students with lack of interest and motivation on the Mathematics lesson because of the didactic classes atmosphere. To remedy this situation in engineering education, this paper presents the method by delivering the Fundamental Mathematics courses through traditional lecturing together with Small-group Teaching and the survey result on its effectiveness. It is concluded that the first-year introduction of Small-group Teaching is effective through positive comments of the engineering students. Undergraduate Engineering students are highly appreciated with Small-group Teaching in ‘Language of Instruction’, ‘Understanding Fundamental Concepts’ and ‘Motivation’. Survey result implies the room of improvement in ‘Arrangement of the Class’, ‘Relevance’ and ‘Assessment’. Future study direction is also provided in this paper for further investigation.
