A Program Developing Academic Abilities of Staff: Members in Using Information Technology in Teaching

This study is aimed at designing a program for developing the abilities of staff members in the field of teaching by using information technology in the Faculty of Educating University of Gezira-Sudan. The researchers followed in the descriptive method through four steps: first, making a list of adequacies needed for using information technology in teaching, second, a pretest for assessing the abilities of the staff, third, the list of adequacies should be included in the proposed program and executed by training sessions of 24 credit hours in 6 weeks time, and fourth, a post test is going to be measure the effects of the training program. The study revealed the following results: the proposed program proved to be highly effective in improving the level of the staff in using information technology in teaching according to Black equation from 1.6 to 2 therefore researchers are emphasizing the use and application of the proposed program for all the staff members in the different faculties in the University of Gezira.

Zeinab Mohamed Ibrahim Kassab was born and brought up in Gezira-Sudan. I was awarded a B.A in social Science 1981. M.A in Curriculum Design in 1996 and a PhD in Educational Administration in 2003. I have participated in many conferences in Jordan, Saudia Arabia and Bahrain and also participated in local conferences and workshops.

An assistant professor of Applied Linguistics (Translation) at University of Gezira, Sudan where she teaches courses in translation, research methodology, contrastive linguistics, psycholiguistics and TEFL methodology. She has published articles about TEFL in local and regional journals.
