The existence of math anxiety among my students was very apparent to me from the very early days when I began to teach math. Test anxiety is another expression I have heard from my students. As a research oriented person, I am always curious in finding the reasons why people react in a particular way in the learning process? What causes anxiety and what are its effects? How can we devise teaching methodology that addresses this issue and how can we help alleviate it? My experience and knowledge in teaching and tutoring to divers population on secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels has lead me to devise strategies to address math anxiety.

My research interests are: Research in math anxiety among adult students; Research in history of math education; Research on Martin-Löf’s type theory. I am currently an Assistant Professor in Science, Mathematics, and Technology. I have a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics and MS degree in Computer Science. I actively continue my research in mathematical logic as applied to computer science, I publish in scientific journals, and participate in conferences. My work with students is in two broad areas: Mathematics and Computer Science. In addition to these areas I also teach business related math and computer courses. I conduct courses in groups, one-on-one, and distance. I also use blended method of teaching. I am particularly interested in developing methods for building stronger mathematical foundations. Concurrent with advances in technology I continue to create new courses in mathematics and computer science.
