Education and Values: A Metamodern Perspective
This paper focuses on the following matters: shaping the main aspects of metamodernity; describing the way human beings are considered from a metamodern perspective, as the main goal of education is building the human being; and defining values from a metamodern point of view. It also attempts to establish the relationship between values and the metamodern perspective; establish, from a metamodern point of view, the place of values in education; point out that the main values which education should take into account to achieve its goal; and review the fundamentals of education to reshape education according to metamodern values.

Teacher, Romanian Department, Moise Nicoara National College, Arad, Romania
Dr. Flueras is a teacher of Romanian language and literature at Moise Nicoara College, Arad, Romania. She has a PhD in philology. Her research interests and work are in the fields of literature and education, and she has been published in local and national magazines. She was a member of the international affairs team of her school from 1999 to 2007. She coordinated two comenius-type projects, and educational and cultural exchanges for her school with schools from Holland and England. For three years, she was a teacher trainer, and she attended the national workshops, concerning the new dimension of the national reform in education (the curriculum for Romanian language and literature). She also conceived and coordinated a course entitled, “The Human Being from a Transdisciplinary Perspective.”
