Gayla Rogers is Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. She has scholarly and teaching interests in professional education and the models and strategies that facilitate learning the knowledge, values and skills of professional practice. Within her discipline, Gayla is on the Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work Board of Accreditation which sets national standards, reviews educational policies and accredits social work degree programs throughout Canada. Her research interests include the study of higher education policies, principles and processes in social work and related professions; professional socialization and professional identity formation; workplace and practicum learning; professional development and supervision; and multicultural and diversity issues in professional education. She has written four books, several journal articles and has presented numerous papers locally, nationally and internationally.
