The Place of Empathy in Social Science Research
This paper describes the skeptical response of a majority of a PhD class to a documentary film concerning child soldiers. The educational implications are discussed.

Sonja Grover is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, Lakehead University. She has published extensively in the area of children’s rights in international journals and is currently writing a book on children’s rights for the University of British Columbia Press.
