A technology-enhanced social studies methods course was designed with rubrics and guidelines based on effective teaching pedagogy. The result supported the subjects improved their computer skills, content knowledge and pedagogy.

Dr. Kim Song

Dr Kim H. Song has taught social studies methods to undergraduate elementary and middle school majors and research methods courses to graduate students at University of Missouri, St. Louis, U. S. A. Kim's research interest includes closing urban students' achievement gap, instructional technology and content learning, and international education. As a leader of methods courses for the senior teacher candidates, Kim coordinates activities incorporate community resources, e.g., Springboard to Learning, Gateway Writing, and The Centre for Human Origin and Cultural Diversity into the methods courses. Enhancing computer technology is another area Kim has been advocating to other involved community partners including teacher educators. She presented numerous papers in national and international conferences and published several articles on performance assessment in teacher education courses and a book on portfolio development. Kim is a Korean Native and she is now working on a study on impacts of private tutoring on children and parents in Korea.
