This paper discusses the effectiveness of using Needham’s Five Phase Constructivist Model in the teaching of History among Form IV (grade eight) students in Malaysia.

Started career as a primary school teacher in 1972. In year 1979 obtained BA Hons. from University of Malaya and in 1988 obtained Degree of Master of Education (M.Ed) also from University Malaya. In 1994 joined University Science Malaysia as a Lecturer (teacher trainer) in School of Educational Studies. In 2001 I obtained PhD from University Science Malaysia. I have written numerous papers and articles related to cognitive thinking skills, teaching and learning and curriculum studies.
