Among my research interests is the professionalization of physical education and health related physical fitness. Since joining the doctoral study programme in 2004, I have had a great interest in the professional lives of Hong Kong primary school physical education teachers (PSPETs). The research methodology that I am going to use is ‘grounded theory’, which I believe could build theory in examining roles, identity, professional socialization, career trajectories, and everyday lives of PSPETs. I am also interested in the study of health and fitness and physical activities; I have also written two fitness books: Wellness Series: Physical Fitness Foundation Theory and Fitness Instruction, which sold 6,000 and 1,000 copies, respectively.
